SATURDAY UPDATE:  Comfortable Days & Cool Nights- String of Storm-Free Day

Your update this morning is short and sweet.  That’s only because the news is good, and we have no storms to talk about for a few days.  Get ready for the best weekend in 2018, so far.  A weak cool front is approaching.  It’s a dry front, meaning no rain and few if any clouds.  Days will be warm and comfortable. But, nights will continue to be quite chilly, and will require a jacket.

TODAY:  A cool morning, gives way to a sunny, nearly perfect afternoon.  Our high will surge into the upper 70’s.  Tonight will be clear, but rather cool again.  Jackets will be needed later this evening and first thing in the morning, with lows at or close to 50.  West winds today, at 6-12 mph, becoming near calm tonight.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  There were be cool nights and mornings, but the days will be comfortable and warm.  Monday through Thursday, temperatures will warm significantly.  Highs will be in the 80’s.  Lows will be in the 50’s.  Each day and night will be a little warmer.

A ridge of high pressure in the upper atmosphere will be responsible for this big pattern change, allowing the warmer temperatures and storm-free days.

If you are headed to The Beach or to Talladega this weekend, the forecast could not be nicer.  Cool nights will require a jacket.

NEXT STORM SYSTEM?:  Showers and thunderstorms will be back in the Friday/Saturday time frame, but the details and timing and strength are unknown at time.  Details will become clearer as we get closer.

I’m typing this from Panama City, Florida on a beautiful Full Moon pre-dawn Saturday morning.  (It’s the Full “Pink” moon.  Official Full Moon date is tomorrow)  I hope you enjoy this beautiful weekend, whether you are, and whatever you are doing.  I’ll have another blog update tomorrow morning around Dawn.
