Weekend Storm System – THURSDAY Video

Good Morning!  It’s early May, but the forecast is like early June.  Spotty, random storms may dot the radar screen later today, but the rain chances will get better Friday and better Saturday as a front approaches.  That could affect some outdoor plans.  A few of the storms could be strong in parts of the state, according to the Storm Prediction Center.  I have an update on the weekend rain chances and a look ahead to next week.  And, the National Hurricane Center is tracking the first disturbance of the season, right off the Southeast US coast.

Could be a pop up isolated showers somewhere today, but, most towns stay dry.  Feels more like June 2 than May 2.

Rain chances for Saturday are increasing.  Scattered showers and storms could affect your outdoor plans, especially toward evening and Saturday night.

Much of North Central Alabama is now in a Marginal Severe Risk for Saturday.  Damaging wind gusts and hail possible in the stronger storms.

Best rain chance Saturday and Saturday night.  Drier weather by Sunday afternoon & Monday.  Very summer like.  More storms possible by late Tuesday.

Best Beach Rain chance is Saturday and Saturday night.
